$2,220 grant to Natick non-profit tutoring service

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation recently awarded $2,220 to Kids Connect, a Natick non-profit tutoring organization serving struggling students in grades one to 12 who are unable to afford the one-to-one tutoring help they need. The program, which also serves youth who will benefit from individualized services in order to succeed, tutors close to 60 students each week.

The Foundation’s grant will help Kids Connect upgrade computers in order to fully utilize the Internet and other learning programs. It will also subsidize the purchase of several white boards used during math tutoring.

“Supporting the youth of our community has always been a primary focus of our charitable endeavors,” said Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank, and a member of the board of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation. “Helping them improve their grades is the first step on the path to their future success.”
