Charitable Foundation grant helps area’s elder homeowners

top.ht3The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Homeowner Options for Massachusetts Elders (H.O.M.E.), according to an announcement today by Robert P. Lamprey, chairman of the Foundation.

The organization’s mission is to counsel elder homeowners who are dealing with insufficient income to cope with basic living and housing costs. The grant will be used to assist needy elders, especially single women, who are facing displacement threats, property foreclosure, severe credit card debt, expensive in-home care and extensive home repairs.

“H.O.M.E. is very impressed by the leadership demonstrated by MutualOne as a true community institution that is responsive to its varied populations, and especially those elders in the community who have given us so much and who are now themselves in need of our vital support,” said Executive Director Len Raymond.
