Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, announced today that the Foundation has awarded $10,000 to Advocates in support of Behavioral Health Partners of MetroWest (BHPMW), a new partnership formed by Advocates, South Middlesex Opportunity Council, and Wayside Youth and Family Support Network.
According to Diane E. Gould, president and CEO of Advocates, BHPMW will serve as a single point of entry into the full continuum of behavioral health and social services operated by the three Framingham-based nonprofit agencies.
“This new program, with its single point of entry, will make it easier for individuals and families in the MetroWest area to access the behavioral health and social services offered by the three agencies, and to coordinate their specific care needs,” said Haranas. “We are pleased to be able to help initiate this new program, and to support the goal of improved health outcomes for those in need of the services provided by these three agencies.”

Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank, announced today that the Bank’s Checking for Charity initiative in 2017 will benefit A Place To Turn food pantry.
Each year, through our Checking for Charity promotion, MutualOne donates $10 to a designated local charity with the opening of each new personal or business checking account.
Since its introduction in 2008, the MutualOne Bank Checking for Charity promotion has benefited Framingham Main Library, Morse Institute Library, Framingham High School, Natick High School, the Natick Veterans Relief Fund, Buddy Dog Humane Society, Ovations for a Cure, and the American Cancer Society.
Our employees enjoyed seeing familiar faces at the “State Fair” fundraising and social event to benefit Ben-Hem Elementary School. The carnival games and live auction were a blast and a lot of attendees made a good run at winning Mr. and Mrs. Ben-Hem with their state fair attire. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, we hope you enjoyed the cards and other giveaways.

Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, announced today that the Foundation has awarded $10,000 to ACCEPT Education Collaborative, a nonprofit educational organization that serves students with disabilities from a number of MetroWest school districts including Natick and Framingham.
The grant will provide for a universally accessible poured rubber surface to create an outdoor play environment at the new ACCEPT Learning Center to be located at 4 Tech Circle in Natick. The play space will provide safe access for wheelchairs and children with physical challenges.
“We support the ACCEPT goal of allowing students to maximize opportunities and minimize disabilities at the new Learning Center,” said Sousa. “The new outdoor play space will be accessible to children of all abilities, and the Foundation is pleased to help make that happen.”
