Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, announced today that the Foundation has awarded $10,000 to Advocates in support of Behavioral Health Partners of MetroWest (BHPMW), a new partnership formed by Advocates, South Middlesex Opportunity Council, and Wayside Youth and Family Support Network.
According to Diane E. Gould, president and CEO of Advocates, BHPMW will serve as a single point of entry into the full continuum of behavioral health and social services operated by the three Framingham-based nonprofit agencies.
“This new program, with its single point of entry, will make it easier for individuals and families in the MetroWest area to access the behavioral health and social services offered by the three agencies, and to coordinate their specific care needs,” said Haranas. “We are pleased to be able to help initiate this new program, and to support the goal of improved health outcomes for those in need of the services provided by these three agencies.”

Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, announced today that the Foundation has awarded $10,000 to ACCEPT Education Collaborative, a nonprofit educational organization that serves students with disabilities from a number of MetroWest school districts including Natick and Framingham.
The grant will provide for a universally accessible poured rubber surface to create an outdoor play environment at the new ACCEPT Learning Center to be located at 4 Tech Circle in Natick. The play space will provide safe access for wheelchairs and children with physical challenges.
“We support the ACCEPT goal of allowing students to maximize opportunities and minimize disabilities at the new Learning Center,” said Sousa. “The new outdoor play space will be accessible to children of all abilities, and the Foundation is pleased to help make that happen.”

Robert P. Lamprey, chairman of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, has announced a $3,000 Foundation grant to the Golden Tones chorus. Now in its 28th season, Golden Tones chorus provides engaging musical entertainment at senior citizen facilities, schools, faith communities, and public events throughout the MetroWest area.
“The entertainers and audiences alike are enlivened by these performances,” said Lamprey. “We are pleased to help bring this enriching entertainment to as many audiences as possible.”
The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded a $9,500 grant to SPARK Kindness in Natick as the Premier Corporate Sponsor of the nonprofit’s 2017-18 “Resilient Parent, Resilient Child” speaker series. The program is designed to empower and assist community members by supporting their social and emotional needs and fostering resilience and connection.
This is the third consecutive year the Foundation has provided funding to help ensure the ongoing success of the program.
“The increasing popularity of the speaker series presented by SPARK Kindness indicates how extremely beneficial the program is for families from a broad range of MetroWest communities,” said Robert P. Lamprey, who chairs the MutualOne Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to support such an impactful program.”
The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $5,000 to upgrade and add equipment in the Callahan Center’s Computer Literacy Center through a grant to The Friends of Callahan.
“The Computer Literacy Center has been instrumental in assisting people acquire the skills to stay connected with family and friends,” said Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee. “We are pleased to help them continue to meet the needs of the local community.”
