Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, was named the 2026 Champion for Women by the Massachusetts Bankers Association (Mass Bankers).
Carvalho joined MutualOne Bank as President, Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer in 2022, and was named Chief Executive Officer in January 2025. With over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, including with several well-known New England banks, she holds a Master of Business Administration from Bryant University and a Master of Science in Financial Services and Banking from Suffolk University. In 2023, Carvalho earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
According to Mass Bankers, the award committee was “deeply impressed by Kristin’s impact on female leaders, her commitment to inclusion, her dedication to professional development, and her outstanding accomplishments both at the Bank and in the community.”
The Massachusetts Bankers Association presents the Champion for Women award annually at the Women and Allies in Banking Conference. The award recognizes leaders committed to supporting other women in the financial industry by exhibiting exceptional leadership skills and providing support to their team’s growth.
