MutualOne Charitable Foundation Donates Over $140,000 to Nonprofits in Framingham and Natick

Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, has announced the MutualOne Bank Charitable Foundation awarded $140,700 in grants to thirteen local nonprofits.

The Community Foundation for MetroWest received a $15,000 grant to fund their Adult ESL program, providing free English and workforce readiness classes for a full year allowing 19 students to gain the skills and knowledge they need to be part of the local economy and culture. Organizations also receiving $15,000 grants were Daniel’s Table to establish a community nutrition and teaching kitchen that will provide healthy, culturally-relevant foods while offering hands-on meal preparation education; Greater Framingham Community Church to aid the Grocery Bag program, which addresses food insecurities throughout Framingham; MetroWest Legal Services to sponsor its 50th Anniversary Gala; and Read to a Child, Inc., to expand its Read Aloud Mentoring Program by increasing the number of students up to approximately 100.

Five nonprofits each receiving a $10,000 grant were Women’s Money Matters to fund a Financial Futures cohort serving 12-18 women with low incomes in Framingham; Hospitality Common Inc., to support Gardner House, its transitional housing program that provides fully furnished housing for individuals throughout the community; Springwell, Inc., to support several of its nutritional programs; United Way of Tri-County to aid its Feed-A-Family program, which provides holiday meal packages to low-income families during the holiday season; and Framingham Housing Authority to assist with everyday operations.

Additionally, the Foundation granted $8,700 to the Edwards Church, United Church of Christ to support its Veterans Outreach Project, including free veterans yoga, an annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner, and support for the VA Center, offering free counseling to Veterans.

A $7,000 grant was awarded to MetroWest Free Medical Program to help provide critical healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured throughout the MetroWest region.

A 5,000 grant was awarded to the Framingham Police for their annual National Night Out, a community-building campaign that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement and residents while promoting safer neighborhoods.
